There is a broader range of work across the teams than is found in most firms. For example, you will work directly with the corporate tax teams to identify UK and cross border planning opportunities, the use of social security planning and executive compensation and reward through the use of share schemes.
You provide answers to basic queries relating to expatriate tax and social security issues, as well as working with senior staff on more complex expatriate queries: be involved in coaching junior staff membersand take the lead in assignee arrival/departure meetings to discuss UK/US personal tax affairs.
The firm has the largest expatriate team in the UK, so there is plenty of support to ensure you are successful. As a key point of contacts for your clients and their employees, your role is primarily advisory focused and if you have the personality and client facing skills required, they will want to hear from you.
