Our client is looking to recruit an Assistant Tax Manager to become a core member of the Middle East & African business. Reporting to and working with the Tax Manager you will be responsible to manage the day to day tax matters that arise in the various jurisdictions. In this role your main responsibilities will include:
- Working with the Tax Manager for the appropriate and effective management of the tax issues arising, with an emphasis on Tax Audit and Africa;
- Ensuring and monitoring all tax compliances and ensuring returns are filed on time and that adequate taxes are deposited. This will involve preparation of the statutory accounts, tax information and computations for various countries and branches were the Group operates;
- Assisting in responding to queries raised and negotiating settlements with the Tax Authorities;
- Travelling to numerous countries, working with local staff, consultants and inter-acting with various tax authorities on tax audits, queries and demands.
You will have an internationally recognised tax qualification and preferably a proven track record of African taxation experience gained with a multinational. You are an excellent relationship builder and have strong communication and inter- personal skills.
To succeed in this role you will combine the ability to work with autonomy whilst being an active team player. This role will require significant travel.
