The main aim of this role is to provide support to the Head of UK Taxation on all aspects of UK tax affairs. As Senior Tax Manager, this position will require the allocation and management of the work priorities of two staff.

The role:

Main day-to-day activities

* Supporting the Head of UK Taxation with various tax projects and advisory work for the UK group. This will include the following:
* Provision of advice to UK businesses on current projects, trading strategies and new products, on all taxes including direct, indirect and international taxes.
* Review and oversight of all UK businesses to ensure management of Tax Risk.
* Tax reviews of complex financial transactions.
* Dealing with HMRC queries on complex financial transactions.
* Management of Transfer Pricing responsibilities for the UK group.
* Responsibility for ensuring compliance with all operational taxes.
* Review of various UK group corporation tax returns.
* Liaise with Head Office and other tax departments to assist with UK tax issues.
* Liaise with external advisors.
* Ad hoc project work.

The person:

Good knowledge of corporate tax and ideally a background in financial services. Experience in dealing with advisory work and management would also be a big plus.
