Our client is looking for an employer solutions assistant manager to join their team in the centre of Manchester. Expatriate tax experience is a prerequisite and the role provides an unusual opportunity for an expatriate tax specialist to get the chance to deal with broader employment tax work. This role will involve:
•Expatriate tax compliance and planning work.
•Managing an interesting and varied portfolio of smaller programmes and HNW resident and domicile cases.
•Advising companies and HR professionals on issues affecting their expat populations including employment contracts, social security issues etc.
•Increasing your technical knowledge and advising on general employment tax issues such as benefits in kind, termination payments and PAYE and NIC planning.
•Advising on the tax treatment of share options.
•Considerable client contact and liaison with HMR&C and third parties such as law firms and banks.
•Assisting senior staff with business development activities and developing the ability to identify potential leads for other departments in the firm.
•Working alongside colleagues in areas such as tax investigations and corporate tax – internal marketing.
You will ideally be ATT or CTA qualified with a minimum of 3 years' expatriate tax experience; however the firm is also happy to see candidates who are qualified by experience. Some previous employment taxes experience would be an advantage. Above all you should be a team player with a commercial outlook and good communication skills. There is a clear opportunity for promotion in the medium term.
