My client is seeking a talented Global Mobility and Benefits Officer for maternity cover (6-12 months, potentially more) to be based in London. The role will pay up to about ?45,000. The start date is July 2009, so those on 1 month notice are welcome to apply as long as you can spare a day for hand over between resignation and start date. You will be working with a high calibre team and are sure to develop significantly within the role.
This role would ideally suit an individual with a tax technical background who has had some experience in-house within global mobility management. This is not a complete pre-requisite rather an advantage. Professionals looking for in-house experience who are currently (or previously) employed in an accountancy practice within Expatriate/ Employment Taxes space are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities:
* Accountable for coordinating and executing the international assignment process, including immigration, cost projections, maintenance of database, salary & allowance review, global tax compliance for bonus payments, tax compliance, immigration applications, global payroll instructions, relocation support, enrolment and administration in benefit plans (including medical insurance, pensions, share plans)
* Ensuring high quality support to Man international assignees on short term, long term, weekly commuter assignments and permanent relocations packages prior to relocation, throughout the assignment and on repatriation. Owns the end-to-end process
* Provide day to day advice and support to business and HR colleagues on assignment policies and process; acting as the initial point of contact for internal and external stakeholders
* Reporting on global Immigration, ensuring global compliance, ownership of work permit/visa applications (including Tier 1/Tier2)
* Assisting with any work required from the Compensation and Benefits team on the share plans
* As part of the compensation & benefits team supporting the compensation review, benefit/policy renewal and other ad hoc projects or requirements
Requirements:
* Considerable experience in professional services plus experience in an in-house global mobility role including the management of global moves
* Educated to at least graduate level, tax or other relevant qualification desirable
* High levels of accuracy and a keen eye for detail
* Numerate with strong analytical skills
* Working knowledge of employment, expatriate tax, immigration laws, social security, pension and relocation issues for assignees
* Good coordination and time management skills required in order to effectively manage own workload
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Systems experience ? HR and benefits systems experience preferable. MS Office experience essential including pivot tables, vlookup and if statements
* Track record of experience in consultancy or financial services sector
* Ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external key stakeholders and be comfortable challenging decisions
* Empathy & patience are key as you will often be working in a sensitive and personal situations
* Aware of cultural differences & challenges of working globally
* Flexibility, hard working, prepared to contribute to HR team
