The UK Head Office of a large insurance company is looking to add to there Tax team on an immediate basis. The position of VAT/IPT Manager reporting to the Head of UK Taxation. You will be required to undertake the UK group's VAT & IPT compliance and be sufficiently experienced to be able to take on this responsibility as well as assist in other advisory and project work.

Main day-to-day activities

· To complete the quarterly returns for IPT compliance.
· To be responsible for the annual reconciliation to ensure cumulative data is comparable with the actual amounts paid.
· To be responsible for issue resolution in respect of risks across a number of countries and whether payments are subject to a higher rate.
· To complete the equivalent Irish IPT return.
· To review the tax base and reporting of information for premium taxes outside the UK/Ireland.
· To liaise with the underwriters to ensure the accurate mitigation of IPT.
· To assist in the completion of the quarterly VAT returns.
· To review the overall process suggesting recommendation for improvement.
· To provide focus on compliance issues and mitigating liability.

Technical Skills

Strong IPT experience in a insurance environment.
CTA/ATII qualified or tax trained ACA is preferable.
Strong academics.
The ability to work under pressure and to deadlines.
Confidentiality and integrity.
Decisiveness and the ability to make rational judgements
