This senior role within a well known London based law firm will combine personal fee earning activities as well as the need to assist the Head of Tax to manage, motivate and supervise the work of others. The team currently consists of one partner, two assistant solicitors, one trainee plus ad hoc support from two external consultants.
The Corporate Tax Team has considerable experience and expertise across the wide spectrum of Corporate Tax law. The Team also acts on clients behalves in relation to complex investigations, appeals and the resolution of major disputes. The cross-discipline nature of our tax practice often reflects advice being given on the increasingly blurred distinction between some clients corporate and personal tax needs.
Key areas of the Law Firms UK Tax advice include:
Property taxation including capital allowances and withholding tax issues
Capital gains tax mitigation
Business acquisition and disposal planning
Stamp duty mitigation
Stamp Duty Land Tax (SDLT)
VAT planning
Income tax and remuneration planning including tax-efficient profit extraction
Inward investment planning for non-domiciled and non-UK residents
Insolvency/s110 IA Restructuring
Employee Share Schemes and general employment taxation
Corporate Tax Deductions
Funds Work including analysis of taxation of fund structures
International Advice includes:
Double Tax Treaties
Overseas Landlords (Rent and VAT)
Withholding tax on loans
The split of work is broadly:
70% property related
30% company commercial
Clients include several large well-known property developers as well as corporate and banking institutions, enterprise investment schemes, venture capital trusts, AIM listed clients, entrepreneurs and owner-managed businesses.
