KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
• Manage and review of Group’s various tax compliance obligations across the Europe, including corporation taxes, VAT and employment taxes, with particular focus on UK entities;
• Management of the Group’s European tax accounting process, including current and deferred tax reconciliations and statutory account disclosures;
• Coordinate Non group tax compliance oversight for the European region;
• Reviewing key tax balance sheet account reconciliations monthly, as part of the wider Tax Accounting Framework;
• Monitors the transfer pricing compliance process for the region
• Provide tax accounting and compliance assistance/direction to the local finance team and provide appropriate levels of training and support;
• Provide ad hoc tax accounting support to the business as needed;
• Assistance to ensure that Tax London is continually meeting best practice within its tax risk management framework;
• Manage and support 1 junior team member.
KEY SKILL AREAS
Commercially minded with a background in financial services taxation with an excellent accounting knowledge.
Able to interact with all levels of staff, including finance, the businesses, and external parties.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
The right candidate will:
Be degree educated (preferably accounting / business);
Qualified Chartered Accountant, with 3-5 years post qualification experience, with the requisite level of self determination to succeed in an autonomous role;
Experience in a the tax or financial accounting department of a large commercial organisation, preferably in the financial services industry;
Excellent Excel and IT skills, or be keen to develop good skills;
Have good IT literacy and some experience of PeopleSoft GL would be advantageous although not essential.
