Leading professional services (Big 4) firm seeking an experienced stamp duty practitioner at manager level to assist its national team. The position can be based in either Sydney or Melbourne. The Indirect Tax team provides expert consulting advice and compliance services covering Stamp Duty, GST, and Customs Duties.
The team is exposed to consistent high end work covering a wide range of transactions such as mergers & acquisitions, local and multi-national restructures of corporate groups, major property acquisitions, revenue audits and compliance.
You will be joining a growing national stamp duty team and will be supported by stamp duty practitioners in other offices. You will be expected to deliver exceptional service quality to both external clients of the firm and to internal clients comprising local, inter-state and international partners and practice groups. This role will involve building the practice on the existing base of high quality clients in your regional office as well as forming an important resource nationally.
Be involved in:
• Providing stamp duty advice, compliance and consultancy services across a range of clients and transactions, focussing on identifying stamp duty costs and providing stamp duty effective strategies to add value to those transactions
• Maintaining quality control on assignments and projects (under the supervision of senior stamp duty resource in Sydney).
• Developing strong client relationships and looking for opportunities to acquire new work through existing client relationships
• Anticipating changes in stamp duty laws and regulations and providing advice or update circulars on the impact/implications for clients.
• Using judgement in assessing risk in client assignments and/or marketing opportunities and applying knowledge of global and local quality control processes and risk procedures
You may be currently working in a stamp duty tax role within a chartered, legal, government or industry environment and are seeking to join a successful tax practice with a large, challenging client base which will allow you to develop to your full potential.
