This European Financial Services Group that has made some significant UK acquisitions in recent years is currently looking to add a Tax Accountant/Manager to the Tax Compliance Group.
The Tax Compliance group is headed up by the Tax Compliance Director who along with the Tax Planning Director reports in to the Head of Tax.
In this role you will -
· Help deliver tax-reporting information in accordance with requirements and deadlines.
· Help deliver tax compliance obligations to the UK HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC). This role needs to help file complex corporate tax returns on an accurate and timely basis, and deal with queries and contentious issues. All tax returns need to be filed within 12 months of the end of an accounting period. The HMRC is also getting very focussed on tax audits and timely responses to their enquiries. This role will assist in delivering the HMRC requirements and minimise the tax risks.
· Prepare transfer-pricing documentation in preparation for filing the tax returns of the Abbey National group of companies in the UK. Maintaining transfer-pricing documentation on a contemporaneous basis for complex cross border transactions will be a focus for this role. Incorrect returns as a result of omitted transfer pricing adjustments can result in tax penalties, increased tax risks and damage to reputation.
· Be flexible and skilled to handle corporate taxes and other tax issues as required (e.g. VAT, employee tax issues, operational tax issues, etc.).
· This role will require continuous learning to ensure tax compliance meets with new and existing legislation.
You will need to be ACA/CA qualified with corporate tax compliance and advisory experience gained with a Big 4 or Top 10 accountancy firm. This role will give you the opportunity to move to a more advisory role with significant post-acquisition restructuring work as the main activity or progress to a more senior position and managerial role within the Tax Compliance team.
