This role will involve you identifying opportunities arising out of changes to tax law or interpretations of existing tax law and to identify their application to your firm. In addition to supporting the tax principals in effectively implementing the firms tax advisory and consultancy services.
Main Responsibilities
Producing marketing/technical material
To facilitate, create and disseminate tax related technical and marketing information. To produce or manage the production of a range of technical and marketing documents. These will include:
Tax packages
Model rules and other scheme documents
Mailings to clients and potential clients
Seminar material – delivery to both internal and external client meetings/seminars/training sessions
Articles:For local and the professional press
Mailings:Either general information material or letters etc linked as part of a specific marketing campaign.
Create the tax advisory section
This will be the vehicle for the knowledge base
Collect, review, update and index existing material for placing on the Intranet
Update the intranet
Utilise the network messaging system to make sure the firm is aware if additions or changes to the knowledge base
Involvement in the design of new Intranet
Training
Help create and deliver new internal training programmes designed to impart the knowledge to
Exploit the tax advisory opportunities
Writing monthly tax updating notes and associated PowerPoint presentations
Qualification and Skills
Preferably ATII/CTA with good technical skills
Current technical knowledge
Ability to explain complex legislation in plain English
Extremely IT Literate (in particular tax software packages)
Commercial awareness /client focus
