Newly created role to set up, streamline and run the UK arm of this International Banking organisation. You will oversee all the day to day tax issues in the UK, working with one direct report, and provide advice to the business on all complex tax issues relating to company structure and ongoing transactions.

Roles/Responsibilities:

Oversee and review the tax compliance and reporting procedures in the UK
Advise the business on the tax implications of their products, structures and transactions
Work towards and optimise the Group's tax position to maximise tax savings
Liaise with overseas colleagues in relation to cross-border activity and planning
Manage a Tax Accountant who will be responsible for the more hands-on tax work
Dealing with external advisors and acting as chief point of contact for HMRC

Skills/Experience:

You will have a background working in FS/Banking tax and have the ability to work autonomously and identify the key areas for development. This is a new position and therefore requires a candidate with exceptional communication skills who can work closely with the business to identify and implement new strategy as well as raising the process of the tax department in the business.

Educations/Qualifications:

Accounting or tax qualification is required (ACA/ACCA/CTA)
Experience working in an FS/Banking environment
