An unusual opportunity for a part or recently qualified tax professional (ACA, ICAS, CTA or tax lawyer) to work on transaction related tax issues within a niche tax boutique. This company has offices in London, Leeds, Ireland and Monaco. They have grown rapidly and are expanding their areas of business to include tax investigations, private client work and remuneration planning. This team employs a mixture of tax lawyers, tax advisors, former Inspector of Taxes and former bankers. The company is well run and highly profitable.
This new role comes about because of this practice's rapid expansion You will work as part of a close knit team and will have considerable on the job training from more senior staff. Work involved is varied and includes:
•A wide range of corporate transactions such as mergers, demergers, disposals, MBO's, restructurings, acquisitions, incorporations, advice to serial entrepreneurs, advice on EMI schemes and equity disposals etc.
•Due diligence including review of tax deeds and warranties and tax clearance applications.
•Research for tax planning and advice.
•Liaison with solicitors and barristers.
•Interaction with the firm's other tax departments.
•Helping to prepare proposals for new work, including researching targets, client companies and technical issues to identify new solutions/products.
•Considerable contact with clients, HMRC and third parties such as law firms, and banks.
•Involvement in marketing to both target clients and work referrers.
•Considerable input and on-the-job training from the Head of Transactional Tax.
This role would suit someone looking for a dynamic, fast paced environment in a rapidly expanding firm. You will need to have a background in corporate tax and will be looking
to specialise in transactions. Study support for CTA available where applicable.
