VAT Senior Associate
Advisory role with a leading law firm
Our client is a leading international law firm looking to bring a non contentious VAT advisor into their team. The role encompasses support and advice to UK and international tax clients as well as with international colleagues on wider projects and clients.
The ideal candidate will have some legal experience, although this is not essential. Excellent language skills for drafting and advising are a must.
The role
* Provide and draft technical advice to business units and clients on International VAT issues
* Broad remit of advisory work, such as cross border, international, goods & services, some customs
* Manage client expectations and deliver projects as required
* Business development - identify opportunities to grow the practice
* Attend client meetings with Partners and Associates
* Work alongside other areas of the firm, such as transfer pricing to work together to provide advice
* Review agreements and draft clauses
* Keep abreast of changes in legislation and communicate this effectively to stakeholders, in order to ensure business risk exposure is reduced
* Customs duty knowledge would be a plus
About you
* Qualified lawyer, Chartered Tax Advisor, Qualified Accountant or equivalent
* Excellent drafting and written and oral skills
* Indirect Tax skills gained whilst at a leading regional or City firm
* 4 to 6 years PQE as a guide
* Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team
* Quick learner with a positive attitude and solid professionalism
