European VAT Compliance Specialist - Northwest of England.
Our multinational and market leading client are looking to enhance their Indirect Tax team with the hire of a European VAT Compliance Specialist based at the UK Corporate HQ in the NW of England.
The role:
Working as part of dedicated team of Indirect Tax professionals focusing on European VAT Compliance; Preparation of monthly, bi-monthly, quarterly or annual VAT returns and other indirect tax returns, VAT General Ledger reconciliation, maintenance of VAT codes tables and VAT codes in accounting systems, supporting VAT Audits and communicating with Tax Authorities.
Liaising with International stakeholders from across Europe and dealing with any VAT related queries.
The person:
Some form of practical experience (approx. 3 – 4 years) across multiple European jurisdictions in relation to VAT, perhaps formed in a SCC, MNC or a Top 10 Accounting firm working with international clients.
Fluent in English plus an additional European language would be advantageous e.g. Spanish, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian etc.
The ability to work to tight deadlines with great attention to detail and accuracy along with a proactive approach to any task undertaken.
