The EMEA Finance team is seeking a Manager, EMEA Tax, a newly created role to support our internal global tax function. The Manager, EMEA Tax role will support the Director, EMEA Tax. It is a unique opportunity for a tax professional to gain broad regional tax experience in fast-paced tax technology company within a small global tax team.
As the Manager, EMEA Tax, you will be responsible for assisting the Director, EMEA Tax, with all aspects of tax planning, tax compliance, tax research, tax audit support, and financial reporting for direct and indirect taxes. You will assist in managing and solving a variety of EMEA-related tax issues over multiple tax jurisdictions. You will also work closely with the EMEA Finance team, external accountants and tax advisors.
You will be a highly driven commercial tax professional who is keen to understand the broader legal, accounting, treasury and finance dependencies and corresponding tax impact and assessing tax opportunities and risks.
Job Duties
* Working closely with the Director, EMEA Tax and partnering with other key decision makers and stakeholders within the global business, you will support the development of a robust EMEA tax function and assist with executing tax strategy across the region
* You will also work closely with the US Tax and EMEA Finance teams to ensure complete and accurate tax reporting for US GAAP and local statutory financial statements
* Responsible for tax technical analysis, identification, and accurate reporting of all EMEA region tax filing and reporting obligations with the support of global third-party outsource firms
* Oversee and guide all EMEA indirect tax positions and activities in a timely manner, including payments, filings, and compliance activities with the support of global third-party outsource firms
* Support ongoing day-to-day management of EMEA tax audits
* Oversee and communicate EMEA cash tax forecasting
* Support the Director, EMEA Tax on regional tax workstreams as the business continues to expand internationally including, M&A activity, Research & Development incentives, Employment Tax, SAO, SOX, Transfer Pricing, PE analysis, CFC reviews and process improvement initiatives
Qualifications
* Qualified Chartered Accountant and/or Chartered Tax Advisor
* ACA/ACCA/CTA/ATT/ ADIT or equivalent
* Minimum of 3 or 4 years post qualification in industry
* In-depth understanding and experience with UK and EU corporate income tax planning, compliance, research, and audit support
* Basic understanding of UK and EU VAT planning, compliance, research and audit support.
* Familiarity with tax accounting including income tax provision calculations and general ledger account reconciliations
* Advanced Excel skills, strong knowledge of other MS Office software, and experience with general accounting systems (NetSuite a plus)
* Strong sense of ownership and responsibility
* Excellent organization, prioritization, analytical, and problem-solving skills
* Ability to support, guide, and influence multiple internal and external stakeholders
* Strong communication and influencing skills at all levels, demonstrating subject matter expertise
* Ability to effectively plan, manage and prioritize work to timely and consistently meet objectives of multiple or competing priorities and projects
* Team player that cultivates collaboration and leadership throughout the global organization
* Some leadership experience of managing a small team, including evidence of developing, mentoring and training subordinates
Preferred Qualifications
* Familiarity with transfer pricing methods and compliance including master files and local files
* Foreign language(s) would be an advantage e.g. German or French preferred
* Previous industry experience of working for a public accounting firm, high-tech firm and/or in a multinational organization in a regional tax function
* Experience in identifying and implementing process improvements
