This is a critical role in the tax leadership team for this FTSE listed group. A hugely interesting long-term contract that will have responsibility for optimising the design, implementation, ongoing management and continuous development of the group's tax strategy for all tax matters globally (excluding the US). The individual must be a strong senior tax business partner and leader for the group's tax advice on external M&A, managing tax cost and reputation and ensuring external tax obligations are met globally.
You will be responsible for identifying and driving people/process improvements required in the Global Tax team to enable the successful implementation of Tax Strategy;
* Providing UK tax technical input on HQ tax issues;
* Provide strategic direction to the International Tax team to ensure a strategic focus tax optimisation and tax risk mitigation opportunities globally. Further ensuring that the International Tax team's interaction with external stakeholders are handled in a manner consistent with the group's Global Tax Strategy and values;
* Partnering with senior business and finance personnel globally to provide clear, commercial tax advice on key local business initiatives;
* Leading the engagement with Corporate Treasury and providing tax input regarding group funding and hedging arrangements;
* Partnering with Business Development stewarding the team's input on external M&A deals;
* Contribute to the design and implementation of a robust governance structure for tax risk management;
* Drive the strategic direction of external tax audits, to mitigate the impact (financial and reputational) on group and enter into commercial negotiations with local tax authorities as necessary.
The Person:
You will have a substantial tax technical and leadership experience working in tax within a Big 4 accountancy firm and/or large multinational company.
You will have significant experience in both UK tax matters and international tax experience across a large number of jurisdictions. You will also be able to manage, lead and motivate a large cross jurisdictional team.
This role can offer remote working from UK, with 1 day a week in the office (just outside of London)
