An award winning professional services consultancy is looking to hire a Tax Investigations Manager or Senior Manager for their London office.
The tax department provides a wide range of advisory services to businesses and individuals, supporting accountants, lawyers, trust companies and other professional firms through the provision of technical tax knowledge and practical experience.
The tax investigations team operate across the full spectrum of HMRC enquiries, including Code 8 and Code 9 work, information powers, penalties, discovery and disclosure facilities.
As a manager or senior manager in this outfit, you will be involved in often complex specialist technical advisory work, dealing with HMRC on behalf of clients and assisting the head of department with marketing and business development campaigns on occasions too.
Offering a competitive package, high quality work and plenty of variety, this role will probably best suit someone currently working in a relevant team of the Big 4/Big 6 firm, or perhaps in a smaller practice, but within a reputable tax investigations team.
It is anticipated that you will be CTA qualified, or qualified by experience through a HMRC background in a relevant department, with specialist knowledge of tax enquiries, information powers, penalties, discovery and disclosure facilities.
You will also be familiar with managing Code of Practice 8 and 9 cases and ideally have some experience or knowledge of the High Net Worth Unit, residence and domicile issues and dispute resolution.
