The Private Business Private Client team based in PwC’s Embankment Place office would like to recruit a Manager or Senior Manager to work across Private Client and Private Business work.

The London Region Tax team as a whole advises unquoted and listed companies, partnerships, entrepreneurs and wealthy individuals. Our aim is seamless client service, from complex tax planning to compliance, often as "Trusted Advisor" to our clients.
The PBPC team has a wide range of clients including international families, entrepreneurs, high net worth individuals and landed estates. Whilst our focus is on the individual we also advise them in connection with their businesses and investment vehicles which could be trusts, companies or partnerships.

As either a Manager or a Senior Manager you will be encouraged to work on a variety of clients across all areas of personal taxation, including residence and domicile issues, trusts, share incentives, taxation of super-yachts and tax dispute resolution, as well as covering various areas of corporate tax.

You will be encouraged to shape and actively manage your career development through involvement in a broad variety of work.

Key skills

Strong interpersonal and technical skills are a must as is the ability to take a lead role with clients and work independently.
As you will be encouraged to deal directly with clients, a passion for client service is important.
Strong organisational skills are necessary to manage working with a number of team members, across grades, and on a varied client portfolio.
Proficient written and oral communications are essential.
Previous experience in a tax role will be beneficial.

The team is focused on being trusted advisors to existing and potential private clients, by providing them with exceptional client service, strong technical know-how and tailored solutions to meet their personal and commercial objectives.We take advantage of the diverse backgrounds of our staff and our networks to provide a unique one stop service for our clients.
You will be involved in:Tax planning projects and ad-hoc advisory work, often with international aspects on a broad range of Private Clients.
Technical research and report writing - including original research (review and interpretation of the legislation) as well as tailoring specific existing planning ideas to meet an individual client's needs and circumstances.
Being involved in the support and development of junior staff - sharing knowledge and expertise through team working, actively managing individual work-streams and reviewing work.
Taking a lead role in managing the client relationship - managing and controlling deliverables and deadlines, handling day to day queries and establishing role as the trusted/primary point of contact.
Working directly to Senior Managers and Directors in the team to support them in managing client relationships.
Reviewing personal tax returns linked with your own client allocation, whilst considering whether any tax planning opportunities arise.
Working across the other lines of service within LRT (e.g. Private Business, Private Equity) to build relationships and personal networks around the Firm and to help with knowledge sharing and providing a comprehensive service to our clients.
LRT Private Client is a fast growing area in PwC and therefore offers room for progression for the right candidate.


Essential skills

You should be ACA or CTA qualified.
The successful candidate will have strong UK tax knowledge either through experience or through one of the above exam qualifications.
Experience of managing a portfolio of clients and leading client relationships.

Desirable skills:Candidates should be interested in being an all-round business adviser who enjoys working closely with clients to provide them with a pro-active service giving them innovative and commercial tax solutions.
