The Deals Tax M&A team in London is the largest specialist team in the PwC worldwide M&A network with over 150 partners and staff. It has the leading reputation in the market with an enviable client list that includes leading private equity funds, corporate groups, sovereign wealth funds and pension fund clients.The team is focused on advising on a wide range of UK and international transactions including acquisitions, leveraged buy-outs, disposals, IPOs, public-to-private transactions, refinancing and restructuring. Many of the transactions we advise on are high-profile in nature and offer tremendous opportunities for learning and development.The team consists of a forward thinking and pragmatic group of people who enjoy working in a challenging environment.

The dynamic ‘deal-based’ nature means a lot of the work in M&A will present the opportunity to work with leading investment banks and law firms in complex and often high-profile deals.We have an exciting opportunity for a number of Senior Associates to join our M&A Tax team in London.About the team Within the Deals Tax M&A team, there are a large number of sub-teams with specialisms in Management Taxes, Transfer Pricing, Funds, VAT, SPA and legal specialists; we also work closely with the Transaction Services Team and Capital Markets Team at PwC, amongst many other specialist teams.

Some of the services provided by the M&A Tax team include: Performing Tax Due Diligence reviews which involve looking at existing and potential tax issues, tax controls and tax risks for clients wishing to sell/acquire businesses.Providing Tax Structuring advice to help clients operate their business in the most tax efficient manner e.g. devising tax efficient acquisition and disposal steps for clients buying/selling businesses and advising on the various implications e.g. corporation tax, VAT and payroll taxes, as well as withholding taxes, stamp tax and other transfer taxes.Tax Modelling, to simulate models of future tax liabilities for Groups to help our clients make informed economic decisions, factoring in recent tax developments and changes to legislation, and shape their business strategy.Pre and post deal services, including assisting clients with pre-acquisition re-structuring and implementing new tax planning ideas.

About the role

Senior Associates in the Deals Tax M&A team will be key team members supporting the delivery of high quality advice on M&A transactions. Day to day responsibilities are likely to include:

Advising on tax implications of M&A transactions for a broad range of clients;
Project managing transaction processes, working closely with other M&A specialists as well as other parts of PwC in order to best service client needs;
Working closely with other members of the team on a wide variety of deals.
You should be able to act as a point of contact on a transaction, inputting into technical research and report writing, reviewing and interpreting tax legislation, as well as tailoring specific existing planning ideas to meet an individual client’s needs and circumstances.
You will be required to build and sustain client relationships – managing and controlling the deliverables and deadlines, coordinating input from various overseas teams, handling day to day queries and establishing a role as a primary point of contact.In addition to client work you will be exposed to and involved in helping to support our business /client specific development ideas, involvement in networking events, proposal meetings and marketing seminars.
The role offers high levels of responsibility, the satisfaction of working on interesting and challenging assignments and participation in a successful team.

Essential skills and experience
