The Reward and Employment (R&E) team is part of PwC's rapidly growing employment advisory practice. Our R&E team provides specialist employment taxes, reward and benefits advice as part of a multi-disciplined People and Organisations. We advise a wide range of national and global clients on the tax and national insurance treatment of cash, benefit or share based rewards, expenses and benefits.
This specialist advice includes
Providing advice to large employers in respect of PAYE and NIC matters.Assisting clients with HMRC investigations and liaising with the tax authorities on their behalf.Providing advice on the tax/NIC treatment of non-cash remunerationDeveloping expenses & benefits policies and procedures on behalf of clients.Assisting clients to develop, test and maintain risk control frameworks around employment tax risks and payroll effectiveness,Due diligence work in order to identify any material exposure to unpaid tax/NIC which may affect proposed transactions e.g. acquisitions or mergers.Design and implementation of a range of salary sacrifice arrangements.Assisting clients to understand the implications of the use of contingent or self-employed workersAdvising on the application of the Construction Industry SchemeOngoing work relating to National Minimum/Living Wage regulationsWe require a Manager toWork with our clients and targets to take advantage of the market opportunity that increased level of HMRC scrutiny around employment taxes representsHelp develop and market new propositions to ensure the pipeline of projects remains healthyImprove links with the colleagues across PwC and to improve cross team working within our P&O practiceManage the efficient delivery of projectsDevelop and manage junior staff members to increase their knowledge and effectiveness
Requirements
The role will suit candidates who have most, if not all, of the followingHave a good working knowledge of employment based tax legislationPossess a strong working knowledge of UK employer/employee taxation issuesHold a recognised tax qualification (CTA) [do we really need this?]Have experience of delivering support on due diligence projectsEither have, or want to extend knowledge into areas such as Construction Industry Scheme and National Minimum/Living Wage regulationsBe willing to work as part of a team and be dedicated to the delivery of high-quality client serviceBe seeking to maintain or enhance their knowledge of the taxation issues facing employers
