Our client is a rapidly changing not-for profit organisation with offices across Scotland. The organisations values are around sustainability and preservation and they have a significant focus around science, strategy and innovation. As a result of restructure across the business there is a new position of Accounting & Compliance manager which will support the Head of Finance in the development and service delivery across the organisation.

Your new role
This is a leadership role whereby the Accounting & Compliance Manager will lead, manage and advise on the Accounting and Compliance functions across a multi-site environment. You will lead the management of Accounts Payable and Receivable processes include credit management, support treasury, banking and will hold day to day management and development of the Accounting and Compliance team. You will have 2 direct reports of Finance managers and will successfully manage cash flows within the organisation in addition to overseeing the management and development of an efficient year end process resulting in the production of fully compliant Annual Report and Accounts. This is a broad and commercial role offering significant levels of exposure to senior management across the business.

This role is critical in maintaining financial control from implement and maintain strong internal controls and to ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations. The Accounting & Compliance Manager will also take responsibility for maintaining sound financial procedures, processes and guidelines, reviewing and updating these as required. This post is suited to a high performing leader with strong technical and communication skills to provide solid leadership, advice and guidance to managers on business transformation and continuous improvement.

What you'll need to succeed
You will be a qualified accountant with strong demonstrable experience of leading the annual accounts process in a similar organisation including exposure to audit, financial accounting and reporting. You will have extensive experience of management, development and supervision of a finance team and good IFRS knowledge.
