Tax consulting is changing. In addition to Tax structuring, technical advisory work, M&A Tax and compliance services (which are all still thriving), our client has grown an excellent offering in Tax Risk/Strategy consulting. Operating as a de facto 'COO' of the Tax department for clients, this experienced team can prescribe the correct remedies for a Tax function. These solutions range from additional personnel, training and development, through to improved technology all the way to full-service outsourcing.
This team should appeal to Tax professionals who want to move away from a technical role to one which focused more on helping clients' tax departments to function properly and add value internally in their organisations. The team has technology specialists, but it also needs tax professionals to provide more 'practical' experience.
Ideally, we are seeking in house Tax professionals who would consider a return to consulting but do not want to do a 'technical' job. I can't promise you can avoid time sheets entirely, but project-based work makes that far easier to swallow than when servicing a large portfolio of clients.
Joining this team will help you to 'future-proof' your CV by adopting new techniques and gaining understanding of what best practice for tax departments looks like across a variety of businesses and countries.
