Hays is delighted to be partnered with a long-standing, reputable, multi-national Financial Services organisation based in Edinburgh to recruit for an Assistant Tax Accountant. Joining a small Tax Team within a wider Finance Department of approximately 60 staff, you will be part of a dynamic, welcoming and friendly business unit.
Your new role
As the Assistant Accountant, you will support the Tax Managers in the delivery of tax compliance. Your responsibilities will include analysing the general ledger, preparing data required for Corporate and Partnership Tax returns, submitting Corporate Tax returns to HMRC, and preparing monthly and quarterly VAT returns across the international group. You will also support with the year-end provisioning, update the EC Sales list, and monitor and prepare UK and oversees payments.
What you'll need to succeed
You will have a working background within accountancy and/or tax, with the ability to work to strict deadlines whilst retaining accuracy and attention to detail. You will work in a logical and methodical manner with excellent Excel knowledge. You will have a proven track record working with in a team and display good communication skills.
What you'll get in return
You will receive a competitive salary of c.£26,000 plus a multitude of benefits inclusive of private medical insurance, 25 days annual leave plus statutory days, and a minimum of 10% employer pension contribution.
