VAT Senior Manager (In House), Full or Part Time, Bradford, to £70k

In-house tax team of global group seek an experienced manager or senior manager for VAT focused role. In this role you will help improve processes and manage the VAT compliance for the group. Initially more UK focused this role will build to cover more international tax work. Ideally you will be tech savvy and be able to drive systems improvements and embrace the use of technology to create a best in class in-house VAT compliance function. Day to day this will include:

• Day to day management of the VAT compliance team (VAT accountants)
• Overseeing preparation and review of draft returns prior to business unit sign-off
• Timely filing of returns following business unit sign-off
• Developing capabilities in the team to increase the number of entities supported by the VAT compliance team
• On-boarding new operating entities into the VAT compliance process
• Process maintenance and continuous improvements, including aligning processes to developing digital reporting requirements
• Liaising with business units and IT teams to optimise reporting outputs for compliance
• Operation and evidence of controls over VAT reporting processes
• First point of compliance contact for business units
• Point of escalation for tax coding queries from the Group
• Ownership of the day to day relationship with VAT compliance tool vendor
• Providing support for data elements of Tax Authority audits and enquiries

Would consider a full time or 4 day week appointment. Salary in the range £60,000 to £70,000 dependent on experience and qualifications. Would consider someone from a large practice or from industry.
