We are recruiting for a major publisher based in central London.
This is a great role reporting into the Head of Group Finance. The role will deliver tax advisory projects for the Group, in addition to handling UK, US, Ireland and Australia corporation tax compliance responsibilities and Group interim and year end provisioning.
Key Responsibilities:
* Preparation of interim and year-end Group tax schedules and provisioning
* Maintain tax balances on general ledger
* Manage the tax element of the Group financial statement audit
* Manage tax exposures and keep abreast of changes to UK tax law as they impact the group
* Identify and mitigate tax risks for the Group
* Optimise the Group's overall tax burden and cash flow by ensuring that all appropriate
deductions and relief's are claimed
* Improve processes by developing or implementing best practices
* In conjunction with 3rd party advisors provide innovative tax planning
* Manage UK, US, Ireland and Australia corporation tax filing and payment compliance
* Manage Australia FBT return compliance
* Manage and coordinate tax investigations and tax audits (if any)
* Review of UK, US and Australia VAT, GST and Sales tax returns
* Ensure transfer pricing compliance
* Improve and maintain TP documentation
* Consider tax implications of proposed acquisitions including where necessary tax due
diligence of the target
* Calculation of the opening current and deferred tax position on acquisition
* Help with other tax requirements for the Group
* Preparation of the tax budget for the Group
Key Requirements:
* Qualified accountant (CTA, ACA, ACCA or equivalent)
* Excellent knowledge of tax accounting, tax compliance and all types of tax returns
* Knowledge of Alphatax software for preparation of UK corporation tax returns
* Proactive and motivated, able to show initiative and work independently
* Publishing or media experience
* Excellent communication skills, verbal and written, and ability to build relationships
quickly at all levels and to present financial information in a manner that can be
understood by all recipients
* Fast and accurate, strong attention to detail
* Ability to prioritise and work to tight deadlines
* Advanced Excel skills
