Revenue Jersey, part of the Government’s Treasury and Exchequer Department is at the forefront of revolutionising the tax system in Jersey which raises some £800 million in revenues to support the modernisation and improvement of public services for those who live, work and visit the Island. From introducing a modern digital approach to tax collection to ensuring the jurisdiction becomes an exemplar in meeting international standards we are on a mission to become best in class.

You will be joining us at a time of unprecedented change as we embark on fulfilling a proposition towards full independent taxation where every person in Jersey is responsible for their own tax affairs regardless of marital status. This represents the biggest reform of the personal tax system since Income Tax was introduced in 1928.

We have an exciting opportunity for a senior management role in our Tax Policy & Technical Unit to join us and lead a small talented and committed technical team. The role is a pivotal one in supporting the Minister for Treasury and Resources, Council of Ministers, Treasurer of the Government of Jersey and the Comptroller of Revenue in making informed decisions about taxation policy for the Government of Jersey. You will support strategic initiatives and legislative changes in relation to the Island’s tax policy and provide technical advice, research assistance and leadership support to the Deputy Comptroller of Revenue.

You will be a qualified tax specialist with a strong focus on delivering tax policy advice and initiatives particularly in the area of personal tax. You will be accustomed to dealing with international tax affairs and will have deep knowledge of relevant revenue laws and income tax principles and jurisprudence from a common law jurisdiction..

A credible, confident individual you will be able to represent Revenue Jersey internally and externally, at a domestic and International level. Your communication skills will be exceptional, and you will have ability to inspire your team to deliver competing priorities with pace and precision.
