As Group Tax & Treasury Advisor, you will report directly to the Group Tax and Treasury Manager and play a key role in UK direct and indirect compliance processes. Furthermore you will support the day to day management of the Group’s tax affairs to minimise liabilities. This will involve working with the Group’s international operations, delivering advice on a whole range of issues.
Risk, Reporting & Compliance:
Prepare and file UK corporation tax computations
Calculate group relief and quarterly payments on accounts
Assist with HMRC enquiries into corporation tax returns
Prepare tax charges and notes for inclusion in financial statements of Group companies
Assist with the Senior Accounting Officer sign off process
Assess the Group’s position as regards World Wide Debt Cap
Assist international teams in calculating tax provisions for overseas entities
Prepare the consolidated Group tax charge for actual and forecast management reports
Prepare current tax and deferred tax asset/ liability calculations for the Group
Monitor the Group’s effective tax rate
Assist with audit queries.
International Tax, Projects & Advisory:
Review overseas tax returns and the tax notes in the statutory accounts
Assist with accounting for taxes
Liaise with overseas tax advisers to resolve queries from tax authorities
Global restructuring projects
Assist the Group Tax and Treasury Manager in partnering with external advisers to establish appropriate structures and mechanisms
Work with wider finance and company secretarial teams to ensure compliance
Assist Group Tax and Treasury Manager on M&A transactions including due diligence
Liaise directly with external advisors on the collation of tax advice relating to key business initiatives
Assist Group Tax and Treasury Manager with set ups in new countries, including delivering advice on permanent establishment risks to a variety of commercial stake holders.
Other taxes:
Prepare PAYE Settlement Agreement returns
Assist HR and payroll on the correct treatment of travel and subsistence costs including audits to ensure adherence to group policies
Support the Group Tax and Treasury Manager with the review of Head Office VAT returns
Provide ad hoc assistance with PAYE/NI queries – supporting wider UK region.
Treasury:
Monitor Group’s net debt position including monitoring of daily and weekly cash flow balances
Liaise with Business Units with regards to cash repatriation
Manage the Group’s bonding requirements
Manage banking relationships including monitoring compliance with banking covenants
About you:
ACA/CTA qualified
Proven UK tax compliance experience
International tax advisory exposure
Good analytical & organisational skills
No treasury experience required
Strong IT skills including Alphatax.
