Job Profile Summary

The Senior Consultant (“SAP® Software Developer”), Tax Technology provides tax automation services to Fortune 1000 clients by performing detailed requirements analysis, process and technical design, installation and implementation of tax automation solutions, testing, training, and developing client documentation.

Duties and responsibilities, as they align to Ryan’s Key Results

• Create a positive team experience.
• Provides guidance and assistance to other and subordinate team members.

Client:

• Perform installation of technical components in client’s systems.
• Develop custom solutions to meet client’s tax automation requirements.
• Provide technical fixes during an implementation project.
• Provide technical fixes as part of ongoing production support.
• Review technical code as part of client’s system review and evaluation.
• Assists with the development of proprietary utility tools.
• Assists with the preparation of client deliverable documentation.
• Assists with the preparation of client training materials.
• Assist with the delivery of training to clients.

Value:

• Implements, tests, maintains, and supports software, based on technical design specifications.
• Prepares technical design specifications, based on functional requirements and analysis documents.
• Reviews functional requirements, analysis, and design documents and provides feedback.
• Investigates software development tools.
• Participates in architecture and code reviews.
• Analyses existing business and system processes.
• Develops new process designs for tax determination.
• Determines and documents business and system processes performed for tax determination.
• Installs and configures tax automation software solutions.
• Creates, executes, and documents testing scenarios.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Three years minimum experience in SAP ABAP development in ECC6.0 or higher versions with emphasis on SAP FI, SAP SD and SAP MM.
• Strong object-oriented analysis and design skill is required.
• Experience with web-based application development technologies is required.
• Relational database experience with one or more of the following: Oracle, DB2, or MS SQL Server is required.
• Experience with complex software development projects through all phases of the software development life cycle and experience with Java performance analysis and tuning is desired.
• Experience with rules engine such as BRF+® is desired.
• Experience with bolt-on solutions such as tax engines is desired.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Great interpersonal and communication skills.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must have advanced knowledge of SAP Software Development (“ABAP”), Microsoft® Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint, Visio, SQL Server, Project, and Internet navigation and research. Technical proficiencies need to include Java and SQL scripting for SQL Server and/or Oracle.

Certificates and Licenses:

• SAP ABAP certification is desired.
• Valid driver’s license is required.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment:

• Standard indoor working environment.
• Occasional long periods of sitting while working at computer.
• Position requires regular interaction with employees at all levels of the Firm and interface with multiple external vendors and clients as necessary.
• Independent travel requirement: 20%.
