The firm are looking to grow their corporate tax offering and build out a team around their Head of Corporate. The head of team is absolutely first class technically and has an impressive range of cross industry corporate tax experience. He is winning work hand over fist and really needs a Number 2 to work with him. The client base is basically new money, so lots of entrepreneurs looking for assistance with the entire lifecycle of their business. This will include those just starting out, those expanding overseas or into the UK for the first time, intellectual property advice, M&A, demergers and timing of exits. You will be advising your clients from both the corporate and personal side, so there really is a wonderful variety of work for you to get stuck into. You will also have the opportunity to manage more junior staff and assist the firm generally with corporate tax queries.
The firm is a reasonable sized mid tier firm, spread across a couple of offices. The leadership are highly supportive and focused on a providing a family feel culture. In terms on ongoing professional development, the firm run regular training sessions both on technical matters and soft skills development.
