This is a company that we have been working with for over 25 years, recruiting many of their tax staff in UK, Dubai, LATAM, Scandinavia & the US over the years.
In September 2022 we recruited the European Tax Director based in the UK. Underneath this person in the UK is the No 2, leading a Tax team located across a number of European locations.
The company now needs a UK Tax Manager or Senior Manager to take ownership of everything related to the UK, including the full compliance process, managing the relationship with the big 4 firm that handles all tax compliance work, internal tax reporting, exposure reporting, compliance with UK tax law, on-going audits (there are several at the moment in UK) and the impact of new tax regulation (IR35, CCO & EPL). Exposure reporting is a key one so it would be interesting if you have experience in either US GAAP or IFRS.
You can expect interaction with the US corporate team regularly on audits, internal provisioning & exposure reporting. You will also have significant interaction with the tax authorities on audits & other issues and you will also be interacting with Finance on personal tax issues to provide support on this.
It is a complex business, so developing good relationships with Finance and a number of different business areas will be important as contracts come in for review and exposures arise.
