Great in-house tax role based in Leeds. As the Tax Manager, you will work closely with the Head of Tax to deliver a range of tax compliance services across all taxes for the UK group plus a small number of overseas subsidiaries. Acting as tax business partner on ad hoc tax matters and projects. Day to day your role will include:
• Preparing UK Corporation Tax returns including:
o analysing revenue expenditure for disallowable items.
o preparing capital allowance claims.
o using tax software to prepare computations and CT600 forms.
• Overseeing the preparation of tax returns for overseas subsidiaries.
• Assisting with maintenance of transfer pricing / BEPS documentation.
• Preparing tax forecasts and manage cash tax payments.
• Preparing VAT returns for the UK VAT group.
• Overseeing preparation of VAT returns for overseas subsidiaries
• Working with members of Payroll and Reward teams to prepare end of year P11D/P11D(b), PSA and ERS returns.
• Preparing current and deferred tax charge calculations and related tax disclosures for the group’s consolidated and subsidiary financial statements.
• Assisting the Head of Tax with maintenance of the group’s tax governance and control framework including updating the Tax Strategy, Tax Policy, Risk Register and SAO documentation.
• Assisting the Head of Tax & Treasury to manage relationships with HMRC, statutory auditors and external advisors.
• Providing ad hoc tax advice and tax inputs into projects for the wider business as required.
A classic in-house opportunity in a rapidly growing group which has become a household name. Would suit a qualified tax professional (CTA, ACA, ICAS or equivalent) with experience of large group corporate tax. VAT experience and employment tax knowledge an advantage but not a pre-requisite. This role can be worked on a flexible or hybrid basis. 4 day week considered for a more experienced candidate.
