Your responsibilities as a R&D Engineering Consultant
As an R&D Engineering Consultant, you will collaborate with a diverse team of industry and tax specialists, leading interviews with senior technical staff to identify the scientific and technological aspects of projects that qualify for R&D tax relief. Your role will involve writing and reviewing technical reports, analysing data to quantify project expenditure, and engaging extensively with clients to deliver clear, high-quality advice. You’ll apply advanced problem-solving and critical thinking to ensure successful project execution, while building strong relationships and maintaining exceptional client service. In addition to working on existing engagements, you will also have the opportunity to support cross-sector claims and contribute to business development initiatives, all while broadening your expertise across a variety of industries.
Requirements
We are looking for a motivated professional with a strong interest in science, technology, and engineering, and proven industry experience in tackling technological challenges such as engineering design, experimental processes, product development, or improvements to manufacturing methods. You’ll bring the ability to quickly adapt to new industry sectors, including automotive, aerospace, defence, life sciences, food & drink, and electronics, combined with strong business acumen. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential, as you’ll work closely with technical professionals and summarise complex information clearly and concisely.
The ideal candidate will hold a degree in science, technology, or engineering, have at least two years of relevant industry experience, and be a collaborative communicator who thrives in a fast-paced environment. Previous R&D tax experience is advantageous but not essential. Above all, we are looking for an outgoing team player with strong relationship skills and a commitment to delivering quality results.
