The Role
This is a fantastic opportunity for a proactive and technically skilled Tax Manager to thirve in a mixed tax role. The position offers a blend of compliance and advisory work, with a particular focus on share schemes and the Enterprise Investment Scheme (EIS). You'll take ownership of client work, support junior team members, and contribute to the firm's reputation for delivering high-quality, personalised tax advice.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and support on share scheme reporting (ERS and EMI40 returns) and planning.
* Advise on tax implications of staff/consultant options, prepare valuations, and manage compliance.
* Review EIS/S/EIS qualifying status, prepare advance assurances, and compliance statements.
* Provide technical support across income tax, CGT, and corporation tax.
* Supervise and mentor junior team members.
* Prepare and review tax computations and advisory reports.
* Attend client meetings, follow up on actions, and maintain clear audit trails.
* Identify and communicate risks, proposing solutions where appropriate.
* Manage a varied client portfolio, ensuring deadlines and relationships are maintained.
* Research and explain technical tax issues clearly and concisely.
Candidate Profile
* ATT and CTA qualified.
* Strong background in share schemes and EIS/S/EIS.
* Proven experience in both compliance and advisory tax work.
* Excellent written and verbal communication.
* Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking.
* Confident working independently and managing staff.
* Positive, proactive, and client-focused approach.
