A high-quality advisory firm is seeking a Corporate Tax Manager to join its growing corporate tax team. This role offers a balanced mix of advisory and compliance work, supporting a diverse portfolio of entrepreneurial, owner-managed, private equity-backed and mid-market businesses.
You will be responsible for delivering technically robust corporate tax advice while also overseeing and managing corporate tax compliance obligations, ensuring clients receive a seamless, joined-up service.
Responsibilities
• Deliver corporate tax advisory services across a broad range of areas, including group structuring, reorganisations, acquisitions and disposals, financing, and cross-border matters
• Lead and manage corporate tax compliance for a portfolio of clients, including review of corporation tax computations, returns and related filings
• Act as the primary point of contact for clients on both advisory and compliance matters, providing clear, practical and commercial guidance
• Identify tax planning opportunities arising from compliance work and wider business activity
• Support M&A transactions, including tax due diligence, structuring advice and post-transaction implementation
• Liaise with HMRC on behalf of clients, including handling enquiries and correspondence where required
• Ensure compliance work is delivered efficiently, accurately and in line with internal risk and quality standards
• Manage, mentor and develop junior team members, including reviewing work, providing technical guidance and supporting career development
• Work closely with partners and directors on complex projects, client proposals and the development of the firm’s corporate tax offering
Requirements
• ACA, CTA or ACCA qualified, or equivalent
• Proven experience in corporate tax within an advisory firm or professional services environment
• Strong technical knowledge of UK corporate tax, with experience spanning both advisory and compliance work
• Confident managing client relationships and explaining technical issues in a clear and commercial way
• Experience reviewing corporation tax returns and supervising compliance processes
• A collaborative approach, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
