VAT Assistant Manager - London or Manchester

Our client is a Top 60 accountancy firm which is rapidly expanding. They are looking for a proactive, commercially minded VAT Assistant Manager to play a central role within the VAT team. Reporting directly to the VAT Manager and also VAT Director, this is a key position in the VAT team delivering on technical advisory work, delegating to, reviewing and managing juniors and acting as a key point of contact for colleagues across the firm to develop a VAT support network.

This role will involve managing and responding promptly to requests for advice to ensure exceptional client service delivery and the continued growth and reputation of the firm's VAT offering and you will act as a key support both for the VAT Manager and Director as well as mentor and support to develop the VAT juniors. You will be a key contact for clients, HMRC and internal colleagues, taking ownership of a selection of clients, sources of referrals and VAT team offerings.
This role provides vital support to the Manager, creating space for strategic focus while giving the Assistant Manager the opportunity to step up, take on greater responsibility, and actively develop the skills needed to progress into a full Manager position. Excellent prospects in an award winning practice. This firm works on a hybrid basis, and this role can be worked from London or Manchester.
