Your new company
You will be joining a well‑established and reputable independent practice with a strong tax presence in the Manchester market. The firm is known for delivering high‑quality corporate tax services across a varied client portfolio and continues to grow steadily, creating an excellent opportunity for a Corporate Tax Senior to develop their technical skills within a supportive, collaborative, and forward‑thinking tax team.
Your new role
In this role, you will support the delivery of corporation tax compliance for a wide range of clients, including owner‑managed businesses, SMEs, and larger corporate groups. You will be responsible for preparing corporation tax returns, drafting tax computations, managing queries, and ensuring submissions are accurate and completed within deadlines. You will assist with identifying tax planning opportunities, including areas such as capital allowances, R&D tax relief, group relief, and corporate structuring. You will also liaise with HMRC on routine matters, contribute to advisory projects where appropriate, and work closely with senior team members to ensure clients receive clear, proactive, and commercially focused advice. As part of the role, you will help support junior colleagues with technical queries and contribute to maintaining strong, long‑term client relationships.
What you'll need to succeed
To succeed, you will ideally be ACA, ACCA, or CTA qualified or actively studying towards one of these qualifications. You will have prior experience in corporate tax within a practice environment and a sound understanding of compliance processes. Strong analytical skills, good attention to detail, and the ability to manage your workload independently are essential. You should be confident communicating with clients and colleagues and enjoy working as part of a collaborative team.
What you'll get in return
In return, you will receive a comprehensive benefits package that includes 23 days' holiday plus bank holidays, a flexible benefit offering with options such as holiday buy/sell, access to a discount portal, a cycle‑to‑work scheme and car scheme, and death‑in‑service cover at four times salary. Additional benefits include employer pension contributions after three months, regular social and staff events, and a "dress for your day" approach to hybrid working. The firm also offers attractive referral incentives for both client and colleague referrals.
