We are looking for an ambitious Associate Director or Director to join our high‑performing International & Transaction Tax team in Reading.

About the role
You will lead and deliver complex, high‑value advisory work across:

* International tax planning
* Corporate reorganisations and cross‑border structuring
* M&A transactions (buy side, sell side, carve-outs, integrations)
* Private equity - fund structures, portfolio company support, exit readiness
* TMT, consumer products, and manufacturing clients across UK, EU and global markets
The client base includes recognisable brands, fast‑growth tech companies and private equity‑backed businesses-meaning no two days look alike.

Key responsibilities

* Lead advisory projects on cross‑border tax planning, restructures and transactions
* Deliver deal-focused tax advice that supports commercial and strategic outcomes
* Work closely with clients, Partners, lawyers, banks and PE funds on live deal activity
* Translate complex technical matters into clear, actionable recommendations
* Spot opportunities to add value and drive business development
* Mentor, coach and develop junior colleagues in the team
About you
We are looking for someone who is technically strong and commercially sharp.
Experience and attributes we value:

* ACA or CTA qualified
* Strong experience in international tax, transaction tax or M&A advisory
* Confident delivering advice in high‑pressure, deal-driven environments
* Ability to translate technical points into outcomes that matter to investors, boards and management teams
* Commercial judgement, curiosity and the ability to "join the dots"
* Comfortable working in an agile, collaborative team with Partner exposure
* A self‑starter who enjoys autonomy, responsibility and building strong client relationships
