Our client is a highly regarded, Big 4 professional services firm with a strong and growing position in the UK international tax market. Their International Tax team sits within a broader service line alongside Deals and Transfer Pricing, giving it a distinctive and commercially powerful go-to-market platform. Having grown at around 15% year-on-year, with momentum continuing strongly into the current year, this is a team on a genuine upward trajectory.

This is a genuine growth hire at Director level. The team is looking to add senior firepower to support an ambitious leadership team in building out the practice over the next decade and beyond. It's a real opportunity to take on meaningful responsibility within a close-knit, more collegiate peer group than you'd typically find at a comparable firm.

The Role

The successful candidate will lead and manage a portfolio of multinational clients across a wide range of international tax advisory work. While the team is sector-agnostic, much of the work is transaction-driven in nature, alongside Pillar Two, disputes, and general ongoing advisory. Clients include some of the largest and most complex organisations operating globally.

Key responsibilities include:

* Leading delivery of high-quality international tax advisory: structuring, refinancing, legal entity optimisation, pre and post-transaction reorganisations, and tax authority enquiries.
* Providing strategic input on operating model redesigns, cross-border structuring, and global policy developments including BEPS 2.0.
* Overseeing concurrent multi-jurisdictional engagements, coordinating cross-functional and cross-border teams.
* Driving business development, both leveraging existing client relationships and opening new conversations.
* Mentoring and developing junior team members within an inclusive, high-performance culture.

The Opportunity

Directors at this firm carry signing rights, a meaningful distinction in the market. For those who hit the ground running, the path to Partner is clearly defined, with transparent revenue milestones along the way, and upon achievement, Partner conversations become very real. There are strong internal success stories of individuals progressing from Senior Manager to Partner within five years.

Candidate Profile

* ACA, CA, CTA or equivalent qualification with strong corporate tax and accounting knowledge.
* A proven track record in international tax advisory, ideally gained within a Big 4 or Top 10 environment, though candidates from in-house environments with the right profile will also be considered.
* Currently operating at Director level, or a strong Senior Manager with a minimum of three years at that grade and ready to make the step up.
* Commercially minded, with the gravitas to manage complex client relationships and develop new business.
* A collaborative team player who thrives in a fast-paced, transaction-led environment.

Why This Role?

The team's USP is clear: you get more opportunity, more responsibility, and more direct access to senior leadership than you would in a larger, more siloed structure. The culture is strong, the peer group is ambitious and energised, and the platform, sitting alongside Deals and Transfer Pricing, gives genuine cross-sell capability and market coverage.
