Global Indirect Tax Lead - Cork, Utrecht, Lausanne or Barcelona (hybrid working model)

Location: Cork, Utrecht, Lausanne or Barcelona (hybrid working model)

We are partnering with a global, innovation-led organisation seeking an experienced Global Indirect Tax Lead to join its high-performing tax function. This role has evolved from a regional VAT management position into a broader, strategically focused global role, offering exposure across EMEA, the Americas and APAC. While the primary focus will remain on EMEA, the successful candidate will play a key role in shaping indirect tax strategy, supporting global operations, and engaging with senior tax leadership in an international and highly collaborative environment.

Working closely with finance, IT, trade compliance and commercial teams, you will oversee indirect tax compliance and governance across multiple jurisdictions, ensuring accurate and timely filings while leading responses to audits and regulatory enquiries. The position also involves acting as a trusted business partner, providing VAT advice on cross-border transactions, supply chain flows and digital services, while maintaining strong alignment with regional tax leads. The role spans several key locations, including a central finance and tax hub in Ireland, a major logistics and warehousing centre in the Netherlands, a global headquarters in Switzerland, and a commercial office in Spain.

A key focus of this position is transformation and continuous improvement. You will play a leading role in enhancing indirect tax processes, leveraging technology and automation to drive efficiencies and strengthen controls. The organisation is actively investing in modernising its systems landscape, including planned ERP upgrades, expansion of tax engine capabilities and the implementation of e-invoicing and e-reporting requirements. You will also contribute to high-impact projects such as VAT treatment of digital services, global expansion into emerging markets, and the optimisation of data flows and reconciliations across complex legal entity structures.

This opportunity is suited to an indirect tax professional with strong (10 years+) European VAT expertise and a proven ability to operate both strategically and hands-on. You will be comfortable working in a multinational environment, influencing stakeholders across functions and regions and mentoring team members within a collaborative culture. The organisation offers a flexible hybrid working model and a supportive, inclusive environment, alongside the opportunity to step into a visible global role with significant scope to shape the future of indirect tax within a dynamic, growing business.
