Shrewsbury, Shropshire | £50,000 - £65,000 DOE
Clark Wood is delighted to be working with a highly regarded independent firm of Chartered Accountants in Shrewsbury who are looking to recruit an experienced Trusts Tax Manager to join their growing private client tax team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong tax professional with experience in trusts, estates, inheritance tax and private client taxation to take ownership of a varied portfolio and provide specialist advice to high-net-worth individuals, trustees and families.
The successful candidate will manage a diverse portfolio of trusts, estates, high-net-worth individuals, directors, landlords and owner-managed businesses, providing both compliance and advisory support.
Key Responsibilities

- Managing a portfolio of trusts, estates and private clients, ensuring all compliance deadlines are met
- Preparing and reviewing trust, estate and personal tax returns
- Advising trustees, executors, beneficiaries and individuals on trust and estate taxation matters
- Providing advice on inheritance tax planning, succession planning and capital gains tax issues
- Supporting estate administration from a tax perspective, including probate valuations and HMRC submissions
- Reviewing technical work completed by junior members of the team
- Providing guidance, coaching and mentoring to junior staff
- Working closely with Partners and senior team members on complex private client matters

Skills & Experience

- ATT, CTA, ACA, ACCA or equivalent qualification
- Significant experience within private client tax, with a strong focus on trusts and estates
- Strong technical knowledge of UK trust taxation, inheritance tax, capital gains tax and estate administration
- Experience managing complex client portfolios
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and advisers
- A proactive approach with strong attention to detail
