A leading international advisory firm is seeking an experienced Managing Director, Corporate Tax to join its expanding UK Tax Advisory practice.
This is a unique opportunity to join a highly regarded, partner-led tax team that advises a broad range of multinational groups, private equity and infrastructure investors, listed businesses and large private companies. The team is recognised for delivering commercially focused, practical advice on complex tax matters and works closely with clients to become a trusted extension of their finance and leadership teams.
The successful candidate will play a key leadership role within a growing tax platform, helping to develop the corporate tax offering, lead client relationships and support the continued growth of the practice.
The Opportunity
The Corporate Tax team provides a combination of advisory, compliance and tax reporting services to large and complex organisations that often require outsourced tax support across a broad range of matters.
Working alongside fellow tax specialists and senior leadership, you will be responsible for managing significant client relationships while leading the delivery of a wide variety of corporate tax projects.
Key areas of work include:
* Corporate tax advisory and planning
* Tax reporting and compliance oversight
* Group reorganisations and restructuring projects
* Financing and treasury-related tax advice
* M&A and transaction support
* International and cross-border tax matters
* Tax governance and risk management
* HMRC engagement and dispute resolution
* Coordination of specialist tax services including Transfer Pricing, VAT, Employment Taxes, Capital Allowances, R&D and Share Schemes
The client portfolio spans a diverse range of sectors including real estate, infrastructure, private equity, financial services and multinational corporates.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and develop a high-performing Corporate Tax team.
* Manage and grow a portfolio of large and complex client relationships.
* Oversee the delivery of corporate tax projects and advisory engagements.
* Identify and convert new business opportunities through existing and external networks.
* Work collaboratively across multiple specialist disciplines to provide integrated solutions.
* Act as a trusted adviser to clients' senior finance and executive teams.
* Drive thought leadership and contribute to market-facing initiatives.
* Manage engagement risk, commercial performance and profitability.
* Coach, mentor and develop junior and mid-level tax professionals.
Candidate Profile
Qualifications
* ACA, CTA or equivalent professional qualification.
* Degree educated or equivalent.
Experience
* Significant post-qualified experience within a leading accounting, tax advisory or consulting environment.
* Strong corporate tax technical expertise across advisory and compliance matters.
* Experience managing and developing large, complex client relationships.
* Proven leadership experience, including team development and people management.
* Demonstrable business development success and the ability to generate new client opportunities.
* Experience working with multinational groups, private equity-backed businesses or listed organisations.
