The Opportunity
A leading tax and advisory practice is looking to add an experienced transfer pricing specialist to its London team at Manager level. The team works with a broad mix of clients, from privately owned businesses to major listed groups and inbound multinationals, on the full range of transfer pricing matters, from strategic design work through to compliance and dispute resolution.
This is a genuinely varied role. You'll get involved in cross-border projects that touch multiple jurisdictions, work alongside colleagues from across the wider tax practice and have real input into how client relationships and engagements are run.
What You'll Be Doing
* Producing clear, well-argued technical work on a wide variety of transfer pricing questions
* Running client engagements from end to end, keeping delivery on track for a varied client portfolio spanning different sectors and company sizes
* Making good use of the firm's in-house tools and technology to work efficiently, and feeding back ideas for improving them
* Acting as a trusted point of contact for clients, balancing technical rigour with commercial common sense
* Working closely with colleagues in other parts of the tax and advisory practice to spot opportunities and help deliver joined-up client solutions
* Supporting and developing more junior members of the team as part of day-to-day engagement work
* Playing a part in business development, nurturing existing client relationships and helping put together proposals for new work
* Getting involved in broader practice initiatives, whether that's knowledge-sharing, recruitment, or internal projects
What You'll Need
* Solid technical grounding in transfer pricing, with a genuine interest in keeping that knowledge current
* A natural relationship-builder, comfortable dealing with people at all levels, internally and externally
* Confident communicator, able to adjust tone and approach depending on who you're talking to
* Commercially minded, with good judgement on risk and when to escalate
* A pragmatic problem-solver
* Some experience managing or mentoring junior colleagues
* Well organised, able to juggle competing deadlines and keep on top of budgets
Nice to Have
* A relevant professional qualification (e.g. ACA, CTA, ACCA, CFA, law, or equivalent), or a Tax Inspector background
* Strong grounding in reading and applying tax legislation
Why Apply
You'd be joining a well-resourced, tax team that genuinely invests in developing its people, with access to high-quality clients and complex, interesting work, plus the flexibility and support to build a long-term career. The role is based in London.
