Personal Tax Manager - Solihull

Clark Wood are working with an established accountancy practice in Solihull that are looking to recruit an experienced Personal Tax Manager to oversee its tax department.

This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong tax professional to manage a varied client portfolio, provide complex tax advice and support the development of a dedicated team.

The Role

As Tax Manager, your responsibilities will include:

- Overseeing personal tax compliance for approximately 800 clients, including high-net-worth individuals (HNWIs) and trusts.
- Providing complex technical advice on income tax, capital gains tax and inheritance tax planning.
- Ensuring statutory tax filing deadlines are met and client expectations are consistently achieved.
- Monitoring tax return completion and keeping directors updated on departmental progress.
- Maintaining and developing your technical tax knowledge to ensure accurate, up-to-date advice.
- Managing work in progress (WIP), billing and recoverability within the personal tax department.
- Overseeing personal tax staff, reviewing work, providing technical support and conducting staff appraisals.

The successful candidate will ideally have:

- CTA or ATT qualifications, or equivalent experience within personal tax.
- Strong technical knowledge and the ability to interpret complex tax legislation.
- Excellent analytical, communication and client relationship skills.
- Strong organisational and time management abilities.
- Experience overseeing personal tax compliance and supporting or managing a team.
