Insourced Solutions for Tax (IST) was formed from the GE in-house Tax team who transferred to PwC in April 2017 as part of a global transaction.
IST operates like an in-house tax function, delivering on all aspects of a tax function across the globe. They identify and implement value-added ideas as they perform activities across the full tax lifecycle, utilising customised process and technology.The candidate will be part of the STIR (Statutory & Tax information Reporting Tool) team within the Global Tax Process function of IST. The team are based in Leeds, UK and ideally the candidate will also be based in Leeds. The team have experience of working with members based around the world and so the option of being based in another European city could be considered. The successful applicant will have a keen interest in the delivery of global tax technology and process solutions. This will be in relation to not only GE but also other IST clients as they come on board. They will form part of a US headed global team with a market leading reputation in this area. The main focus of the role will be on IST initiatives and technology solutions, but as part of a local PwC member firm the candidate will also look for opportunities to use their skills in contributing to local PwC initiatives.
About the role
The candidate will form part of the UK based STIR team reporting to James Burdass in Leeds. Part of the role includes providing day to day support and advice in relation to the global STIR application currently used by GE. The candidate will also be involved in numerous other IST projects, whether that be working on new clients or developing new technology solutions. Specific areas will include but not be restricted to:
Day to day support of the STIR application working closely with the development team
Design and testing of new functionality / reports as required
Provision of training and related documentation
Advise GE on transition to future Enterprise Standards processes and applications
Work with other Global Process application teams on joint initiatives
Work on other value added projects for IST
Provide support on future IST client rollouts
Assist in designing technology solutions as part of the IST tax lifecycle offering
Contribute to local PwC team on local initiatives
