This expanding international VAT services company work with an enviable client base of global businesses. Their office is located in Brighton, which is a vibrant, cosmopolitan seaside town in the south-east of England, less than an hour from the capital.
Clients benefit from both Indirect Tax advisory and compliance guidance that aims to simplify the experience of cross-border VAT for businesses trading in Europe, through a policy of practical engagement with their clients and their indirect tax issues.
Like the client base, the team is drawn from all over Europe and further afield; while they are an established and professional operation, the office environment is relaxed, informal and supportive.
With plans to expand into the EU, this outfit combines the integrity of the top professional services firms with the dynamism of an independent boutique.
As the VAT landscape across Europe continues to grow in complexity, their compliance team continues to expand, as they look to help their clients meet these ongoing and increasing demands.
The compliance team enjoys the advantages of an efficient and well-established processing capability with the benefits of comprehensive international VAT knowledge. With pride in their international expertise and a passion for delivering the highest standards of client service, these are some of the reasons why the firm continues to successfully expand.
The business is also quite well integrated. The consulting team work very closely with the compliance team to support the delivery of services, assisting with internal training and facilitating the sharing of knowledge between the two teams.
Many of the consultants have trained with a Big 4 firm before transitioning to a holistic role to help shape and support the growth of this business. This in turn provides an excellent environment to support your own professional growth and development within the team.
The compliance team is looking to recruit a talented and ambitious individual, capable of managing one of the sub-teams (6-10 staff).
The role in brief:
Managing day to day performance of the team as well as individuals
Mentoring and developing others
Delivering excellent client-focused service in line with internal guidelines & ensuring the team follows suit
Ensuring the team follows internal risk management processes
Submitting VAT Returns and providing Compliance Account Management for key accounts
Reviewing and recommending changes relating to processes and training needs
Over three years of VAT experience gained in-house or within a professional services practice
Experience of managing people (ideal but not essential)
The team would be particularly interested in candidates who have developed expertise in the E-commerce industry and/or submitting Intrastat declarations in multiple jurisdictions.
All applicants will need to be confident in their ability to work in English at a proficient level. While fluency in another major European language would be advantageous, this is not essential.
