Who we are looking for

Our Energy Services Corporate Tax team are part of the firm’s Centre of Excellence for Oil & Gas, based in Aberdeen. We advise a range of clients from upstream producers to a broad range of service companies including technology based oilfield solutions, offshore drilling contractors and marine/vessel based services.We have an exciting opportunity for a Manager to join our team. The candidate will have experience primarily in corporate tax, a commercial outlook and enthusiasm for business. There will be visits to client sites/other PwC offices as required, as we have clients located in many international energy and financial hubs such as Aberdeen, London, Norway, UAE, Calgary and the US.

The successful applicant will have a keen industry focus and will develop their knowledge through additional training/on the job learning.About the roleThe successful candidate will be given day-to-day responsibility for managing a portfolio of on-going client relationships, will support the energy team on tax advisory projects and assist in winning and developing work.The ability to manage a varied client portfolio and one off projects is essential. The role will include responsibility for managing and developing junior members of your team. You will provide clients with advice on tax matters relevant to their business and be responsible for introducing other specialists and services as appropriate. You will establish effective working relationships with client staff and maintain/develop on-going client relationships.You will be part of client service and project teams across PwC and be expected to develop your managerial and leadership role – working closely with other lines of service such as corporate finance, transaction services and assurance in delivering seamless client service.

You will be involved in the financial management of the relationship, ensuring work is delivered on time/within budget, contribute to the development of personal/team knowledge, build your own network of contacts through internal/external meetings, keep up-to-date with proposed and actual changes in law and the firm's products and services and keeping up-to-date with local/national business and economic issues that might impact your clients and/or their industry.The team offers the opportunity to work on a challenging and varied transactional client portfolio. Your role will be primarily corporate tax advisory, M&A tax and structuring/advisory. You will be given the opportunity to work with specialists including:-Transactions support; international tax planning; as well as work with teams in international locations.You will have strong technical skills in corporate tax combined with the ability to provide a commercial tax service to our clients and lead teams of highly motivated people. Oil & Gas experience is beneficial in this role, however, training will be provided to the successful candidate.

Requirements

The requirements for the role are as follows:

Relevant qualifications in CA; CTA; or equivalent
A commitment to continuing to enhance technical/other knowledge and skills
Willingness to take on new and challenging workRisk awareness

Amount of time office based: 90%
Amount of time at client sites: 10%
