Global bank that is currently going through a period of sustained growth is now recruiting a Senior Tax Manager to lead the run the Group Tax function.This is a newly created role.

Your new role

An opportunity to join the Finance Function as a Senior Tax Manager has arisen. This role is being created to enable the finance function to support the businesses in all tax matters and also to ensure all Tax reporting is managed effectively and efficiently.

Working in a team, your role will include over-seeing the all aspects of tax compliance for the groups London entities. The successful recruit will be responsible for the delivery of all tax related matters of the business booked in the UK legal entities to enable the business to formulate appropriate strategies to achieve the corporate objectives of the group & the branch.

* Advise/ support the Corporate Banking & Financial Institutions Group and Treasury function in ensuring tax risk is minimised on Lending transactions, derivative trades and new products. This will include appropriate sign off on all tax related matters in respect of transactions undertaken by business units in London.
* VAT, management of PESM, preparation of reports and complex query support for Accounts Payable team.
* All aspects of corporation tax compliance for the bank and the branch are planned and managed so as to optimize the tax position (critical focus will be on ensuring that the underlying data and information required for monthly Corporate tax computations are complete, accurate and comply with the Tax legislation - e.g. Transfer Pricing; CATA calculations).
* Lead the periodic review of all Transfer Pricing related matters including completing functional analysis.
* Managing the Accountant, Tax and oversight of the monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations and explaining the tax charge to relevant stake holders.
* Business support:
*

* Develop and maintain documentation as tax law and regulations require
* Other ad hoc projects including research of tax issues for new markets, changes in tax regulations and tax assurance work

* Support the following key outputs for Finance :
*

* Quarterly reporting (to local senior management and HO) and Annual Report and Accounts for London entities
* Annual CRD IV Country-by Country Reporting
* Annual BEPS Country by Country Reporting
* Quarterly UK Payment Arrangement Calculations
* Annual Budget Plan (3-year forecast)

* Support the Head of Finance in implementing and maintaining the tax risk framework and supporting governance and reporting requirements.
* Ensure the Bank is compliant with the International Accounting Standard for Tax (IAS12) and appropriate and accurate tax disclosures are internally and externally.
* Lead the production of the VAT returns and guidance the relevant staff to ensure the returns are completed ahead of dead-lines and in compliance with the agreed Partial Exemption Methodology.
* Lead the production of all required documentation to support the SAO certification on an annual basis.
* Coaching and managing junior product controller.

What you'll need to succeed

* Professional qualification in accounting/finance discipline, preferably with Masters degree
* Qualified Tax professional having trained with a large accounting firm. You will have some financial services experience.
* Experience working at a similar level, within Tax, banking with line management experience in the financial services sector
