Group Tax Manager (6 month FTC)

My client, an instantly recognisable engineering company, is hiring a Tax Manager on a 6-month contract to join their prestigious in-house tax function. As this company continues to expand their operations internationally, they are seeking a talented and experienced Group Tax Manager to join their finance team on a 6-month FTC.

As the Group Tax Manager, you will play an essential role in overseeing all aspects of their tax compliance and strategy. Reporting directly into the Head of Tax, you will be responsible for managing the group’s tax affairs, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations, and optimising our tax position.

Responsibilities:
• Oversee and manage the preparation and submission of corporate tax returns in accordance with relevant regulations and deadlines
• Monitor changes in tax legislation and ensure compliance with new requirements
• Work closely with external advisors to optimise the corporate tax position of the company
• Lead the VAT compliance process, ensuring accurate and timely submission across multiple jurisdictions
• Manage one direct report with ensuring accurate data is provided
• Develop and implement tax planning strategies to optimise overall tax position
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure tax considerations are integrated into business decisions
• Prepare and review tax provisions for financial statements

Requirements:
• ACA/ACCA/CTA Qualified preferred
• Experience in a mixed tax role covering both corporate and VAT compliance
• Experience within a multinational or Big 4 accounting firm is desirable
• Strong knowledge of corporate tax and VAT regulations
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment
