Your responsibilities as a R&D Tax Director
As the main client contact, you will manage the successful delivery of R&D tax services, ensuring technical excellence and clear communication throughout. You will also play a key role in developing junior team members, maintaining strong client relationships, and identifying opportunities to expand services. Alongside managing existing accounts, you will contribute to winning new business, making this a unique chance to grow your career in a dynamic and supportive practice.
In this role, you will work with a diverse client base ranging from FTSE 100 and 250 multinationals to tech start-ups. You will collaborate closely with senior engineers, scientists, and finance and tax professionals to identify qualifying R&D projects and lead the delivery of high-quality claims for submission to HMRC.
Requirements
We are looking for a motivated professional with previous R&D tax experience and a strong interest in exploring the latest technologies across diverse industries. You will bring excellent relationship management skills, with the ability to manage client expectations and build trusted partnerships, alongside strong technical expertise and advanced Excel capability for handling large, complex datasets. Confident in client-facing roles, you will engage directly with senior technical and finance staff, demonstrating strong communication skills and the ability to present clearly.
You should have a degree in Engineering or Science, have excellent communication and negotiation skills, and show the flexibility to adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment. Ideally, you will also bring project management experience and industry-based knowledge in your chosen field. A self-starter with a proven track record of taking initiative, you will thrive in a collaborative, team-oriented environment and be an outgoing professional committed to delivering quality results.
